GLENDALE, Ariz., March 31 (UPI) -- Petr Prucha's power-play goal 53 seconds into overtime Monday gave the Phoenix Coyotes a 6-5 win over Dallas.

Scottie Upshall and Enver Lisin scored two goals apiece for the Coyotes, who have won just five of their last 16 games and face elimination from playoff contention. Prucha, Matthew Lombardi and Viktor Tikhonov had two assists each and Ilya Bryzgalov finished with 18 saves.

Brendan Morrison had a goal and an assist, Mike Ribeiro had three assists, and Tobias Stephan made 27 saves for Dallas -- which has lost a season-high seven straight and further eroded its already slim chance of seeing post-season action. The Stars trail St. Louis by eight points for the eighth and final playoff berth.

Down 5-3 in the third period, the Stars mounted a challenge, getting goals from Chris Conner and Darryl Sydor -- with Sydor's coming with less than 58 seconds in regulation to force overtime.

The Coyotes had the man advantage in overtime after Andrew Hutchinson was sent to the box for tripping.
