COL BKB: Penn State 67, Notre Dame 59

NEW YORK, March 31 (UPI) -- The trio of Taylor Battle, Jamelle Cornley and Andrew Jones led Penn State to a 67-59 win over Notre Dame Tuesday to reach the NIT finals.

The Nittany Lions (26-11) will play Baylor for the championship Thursday. The Bears beat San Diego State 76-62 in the other semifinal Tuesday.

Battle produced 17 points, while Cornley added 15 points and eight rebounds, and Jones had 16 points and 15 rebounds for Penn State.

Luke Harangody had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame (21-15).
