MIAMI, March 29 (UPI) -- Roger Federer rolled to an easy straight-set win Sunday in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

The Swiss star, seeded No. 2 in the event, eliminated Germany's Nicolas Kiefer 6-4, 6-1 in a match that lasted only 70 minutes.

Federer will next play Taylor Dent, an American qualifier who topped 15th-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain 7-5, 6-3.

Fifth-seeded Andy Roddick of the United States also moved on to the next round after a 7-6 (11-9), 6-2 triumph over Russia's Dmitry Tursunov.
