CAP CANA, Dominican Republic, March 29 (UPI) -- A string of four straight birdies and an eagle carried Keith Fergus to the championship Sunday in the Cap Cana Championship in the Dominican Republic.

Fergus closed with a 5-under-par 67 for an overall score of 13-under 203, winning the Champions Tour event by a shot over Andy Bean (65) and Mark O'Meara (68).

Joey Sindelar (67) placed fourth at 11-under 205.

The 55-year-old Fergus birdied the 12th through 15th holes and eagled the 17th.

"It's been a great week," Fergus said. "I had a couple things that I worked on earlier this week with my putting and it helped."

Fergus won $315,000.
