CAP CANA, Dominican Republic, March 28 (UPI) -- Mark O'Meara posted a 7-under-par 65 Saturday to move into a three-way tied for the lead after two rounds of the Cap Cana Championship seniors event.
O'Meara was at 8-under 136 through 36 holes and shared the lead with Keith Fergus (68) and Eduardo Romero (68).
Gene Jones shot a 6-under 66 Saturday to move into a tie for fourth at 138 with Joey Sindelar (68), Mark McNulty (68), Bruce Vaughan (67) and Tim Simpson (70).
"Obviously, it was a disappointing finish yesterday because I played really well. Just to finish that way left a little bit of a bad taste," said O'Meara, who played the final two holes in plus-three in the first round. "Today, I got out there and hit some good shots, drove it well and made a couple of good birdies."
