COL BKB: (W): Maryland 78, Vanderbilt 74

RALEIGH, N.C., March 28 (UPI) -- Marissa Coleman's 42 points Saturday led Maryland to a come-from-behind 78-74 NCAA Tournament win over Vanderbilt in an Eastern Regional semifinal at Raleigh.

It was Maryland's 15th straight victory.

The burly senior center also had 15 rebounds in her career performance.

Her total was both a career record and the highest-ever in a regional semifinal.

It helped the top-seeded Lady Terps bounce back after Vandy's dominant first half.

Vanderbilt scored 12 of the game's first 14 points and led 35-18 on Jence Rhoads's jumper with 5:19 left in the first half.

Maryland took its first lead at 72-71 on Demauria Liles's layup with 2:04 remaining.

In the final 30 seconds, Coleman's jumper and two free throws sealed the Lady Terps' (31-4) victory.

Christina Wirth led No. 4 seed Vanderbilt with 28 points and five rebounds.

Rhoads scored 14, Jennifer Risper 13, and Merideth Marsh 12 for the Lady Commodores (26-9), who also were eliminated by Maryland last season.
