MONTREAL, March 26 (UPI) -- Saku Koivu scored 1:45 into overtime Thursday to bring the Montreal Canadiens a 3-2 decision over Tampa Bay.
The Canadiens let a 2-0 lead get away in the third period, but managed to get their second straight victory after enduring a season-worst, five-game losing streak.
Montreal maintained a two-point lead over Florida in the race for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. Florida recorded a 4-2 win over Philadelphia Thursday.
The Canadiens' Carey Price took a shutout into the third period, but he allowed goals by David Koci and Lukas Krajicek in a four-minute span that rallied Tampa Bay into a tie.
Koivu saved the Canadiens, however, by putting a slapshot past Karri Ramo.
Price made 17 saves to get the win. It was the first time in six appearances Price had given up fewer than three goals.
