Goosen's win moves him to No. 22 in world

VIRGINIA WATER, England, March 23 (UPI) -- Retief Goosen's win at the Transitions Championship jumped him from 39th to 22nd Monday in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Goosen, a two-time U.S. Open champion, captured the Palm Harbor, Fla., event Sunday with an 8-under-par 276, one shot ahead of Brett Quigley and Charles Howell III.

The win was the South African player's seventh on the PGA Tour. At one time, Goosen was No. 3 in the world.

Tiger Woods, back on tour after a long layoff following knee surgery, continues in the top spot in the rankings.

Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Geoff Ogilvy and Padraig Harrington, in order, complete the Top Five.

Vijay Singh and Camilo Villegas remained in the 6-7 slots, followed by Robert Karlsson at No. 8, Henrik Stenson No. 9 and Kenny Perry in the 10th spot.

Steve Stricker, who tied for fourth place in the Transitions tournament, climbed four places to No. 11. Paul Casey is No. 12, Jim Furyk 13, Anthony Kim 14 and Lee Westwood 15.

Ranked 16th through 20th are Ernie Els, Rory McIlroy, Stewart Cink, Mike Weir and Martin Kaymer.

Adam Scott was bumped out of the Top 20 this week.
