NHL: Boston 4, New Jersey 1

BOSTON, March 22 (UPI) -- Michael Ryder and Marc Savard helped Boston clinch the Northeast Division title Sunday, each recording a goal and assist in a 4-1 victory over New Jersey.

Chuck Kobasew and Milan Lucic also scored for the Bruins, who now have a five-point lead over New Jersey atop the Eastern Conference.

Boston scored three times before Andy Greene got the Devils' goal with 7:16 remaining in the second period.

Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was credited with 41 saves and Martin Brodeur had 26 saves for New Jersey.
