NBA: New Orleans 99, Golden State 89

NEW ORLEANS, March 22 (UPI) -- Chris Paul and David West combined for 50 points Sunday, propelling the New Orleans Hornets to a 99-89 win over the Golden State Warriors.

Paul scored 27 points, pulled down eight rebounds and contributed eight assists, and West had 23 points and six assists.

New Orleans, which is 26-10 at home this season, trails Houston by 1 1/2 games for the No. 1 spot in the Southwest Division.

Stephen Jackson totaled 22 points and Kelenna Azubuike had 16 for Golden State, which is 6-29 on the road.
