Former NBA player Orlando Woolridge arrested for theft
OTTAWA, March 21 (UPI) -- Dany Heatley capped a four-goal second period Saturday with his 34th goal of the season, helping the Ottawa Senators beat the New York Islanders 5-2.
The Senators have won seven straight at home.
The other second period goals were scored by Chris Neil, Filip Kuba and Mike Fisher. Nick Foligno (power play) scored in the third.
Daniel Alfredsson had three assists, Brendan Bell had two, and Brian Elliott made 20 saves for the Senators, who have won four in a row and eight of their last nine contests.
Elliott extended his winning streak to eight straight, the longest by a rookie goaltender in franchise history.
Both New York goals were scored by Josh Bailey in the third period, giving him five this season.
Yann Danis was beaten five times on 26 shots for the Islanders, who have lost three of four and have long since dropped out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
