PHILADELPHIA, March 21 (UPI) -- Six Wildcats scored in double figures Saturday and Villanova cruised to an 89-69 rout of UCLA in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Philadelphia.
The bigger, stronger Wildcats raced away from a 4-4 tie to lead 44-31 at the half. Villanova forced 19 turnovers and won the battle of the boards by a 39-26 margin.
Dante Cunningham's 18 points and 10 rebounds paced Villanova. Corey Fisher scored 13 with three rebounds and four assists. Reggie Redding also scored 13 with six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Corey Stokes scored 12, Scottie Reynolds 11 and Dwayne Anderson added 10 with 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The third-seeded Wildcats (28-7), who face either Duke or Texas in an East Region semifinal.
Josh Shipp led UCLA with 18 points. Darren Collison scored 15, while Nikola Dragovic had 11 points and five rebounds for the sixth-seeded Bruins (26-9), who gave up the highest point total in their season.
