MINNEAPOLIS, March 21 (UPI) -- Kalin Lucas touched off a 21-point run that spanned halftime Friday and sent Michigan State roaring past Robert Morris 77-62 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Spartans, seeded second in the Midwest Region, will take on No. 10 seed USC in the second round Sunday.

The game was tied at 30-30 when Lucas made a reverse layup with 4:26 to play in the first half. Michigan State went on to score the final 11 points of the first period and added the first 10 of the second.

Draymond Green's layup, off a feed from Lucas, gave the Spartans a 51-30 advantage with 15:29 to play.

Green and Raymar Morgan led Michigan (27-6) with 16 points each. Goran Suton contributed 17 rebounds.

The victories by Michigan and Wisconsin late Friday gave the Big Ten Conference a 4-2 mark in the first round of the tournament.

Robert Morris (24-11), which won the regular-season and conference tournament titles in the Northeast Conference and was seeded 15th, was led by 11 points from Jeremy Chappell.
