GLENDALE, Ariz., March 20 (UPI) -- Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan scored shootout goals Thursday night to bring the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 victory over Phoenix.
Anaheim remained three points behind Edmonton for the eighth and last Western Conference playoff spot.
Matthew Lombardi lifted Phoenix into a 2-2 tie by scoring with 2:31 to play in the third period, and goaltenders Ilya Bryzgalov of Phoenix and Jonas Hiller of Anaheim staged a duel in the shootout.
Each netminder gave up one goal through the first three rounds and Ryan eventually scored the game-winner in the fifth round.
