COL BKB: UNC 101, Radford 58

GREENSBORO, N.C., March 19 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough scored 22 points Thursday and became the ACC's all-time scoring leader when North Carolina trounced Radford 101-58.

The contest at the Greensboro Coliseum was a first-round matchup in the NCAA Tournament's South Region.

The winners raced away from a 13-11 advantage to lead, 53-34, at the half, and held a double-digit advantage the entire second half.

Hansbrough's 2,789 career points surpassed the 2,769 scored by Duke's J.J. Redick.

Wayne Ellington led UNC with 25 points and eight rebounds.

Danny Green scored 15 with 10 rebounds, and Ed Davis added 15 points, five rebounds and four blocked shots for the South Region's top-seeded Tar Heels (29-4), who are a No. 1 seed an NCAA-record 13th time.

Joey Lynch-Flohr's 12 points and 11 rebounds led Radford.

Amir Johnson scored 12 with three assists and three steals.

Kenny Thomas scored 11 with seven rebounds, and Artsiom Parakhousi added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the 16th-seeded Highlanders (21-12), who made their second NCAA Tournament appearance.
