GLENDALE, Ariz., March 18 (UPI) -- Shane Doan's power-play goal with 27 seconds left in the game Tuesday handed Phoenix a 4-3 win over San Jose.
Doan scored just 6 seconds after Jonathan Cheechoo was called for interference. After the ensuing faceoff in the Sharks' zone, Doan got the puck in the left circle and moved to the right side of the net. As he was being checked from behind, Doan slid a backhander between the pads of a sprawling Brian Boucher.
Doan also assisted on all of the Coyotes' other goals. Kyle Turris got two of them, along with a pair of assists. Dmitri Kalinin added a power-play goal and an assist.
Phoenix ended a five-game losing streak with the help of Ilya Bryzgalov's 33 saves.
The Sharks got two goals and an assist from Joe Thornton. Patrick Marleau also scored for San Jose.
Evgeni Nabokov was pulled after allowing three goals on nine shots in the first period. Boucher made 10 saves the rest of the way.
