INDIANAPOLIS, March 18 (UPI) -- Brandon Roy led six players in double figures Wednesday and Portland took another step toward ending its playoff drought by downing Indiana 95-85.
Roy scored 20 points and Travis Outlaw had 15, helping the Trail Blazers improve to 2-1 on their five-game road trip.
Portland, which has not reached the playoffs in six seasons, began the night a half game behind Denver in the battle for the top spot in the Northwest Division. The Trail Blazers also started the game as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.
Portland center Greg Oden returned to action after missing more than a month with a bone chip in his left knee. He played 12 minutes, scoring four points with seven rebounds.
Indiana, which has lost four in a row and five out of six, was led by 35 points from Danny Granger.
Granger started for the first time in a month. He came off the bench last Sunday in his first appearance since suffering a partially torn tendon in his right foot Feb. 18.
