NEW ORLEANS, March 18 (UPI) -- David West threw down a dunk with 12.3 seconds remaining Wednesday that lifted New Orleans over Minnesota 94-93.
The Timberwolves, losers of 13 out of 15, had a chance to pull off the upset before West took a perfect pass from Chris Paul and slammed it home. That gave New Orleans its 10th win in 13 games.
Paul scored 26 points to go with 10 assists and five steals. Both West and Rasual Butler contributed 14 points.
Kevin Love led the Timberwolves with 23.
The game was close throughout the fourth quarter and New Orleans took a 92-91 lead with 1:12 to play on two free throws by West. Love then made two foul shots to give the Timberwolves a one-point advantage with 28.4 seconds left.
After West scored the winning basket, Minnesota's Randy Foye missed a baseline jumper just before the buzzer.
