OAKLAND, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Monta Ellis scored 29 points Tuesday as Golden State raced past the Los Angeles Clippers 127-120.
Ellis also contributed six assists and five rebounds. Corey Maggette added 21 points and Anthony Morrow 20 for the Warriors, who have won three of four.
Baron Davis, playing his first game in Oakland since leaving the Warriors last off-season for a $65 million contact with the Clippers, scored 29 points with seven assists. Al Thornton had 25 points with nine rebounds.
Golden State's Stephen Jackson did not play due to a one-game suspension for his 16 technical fouls on the season.
The Clippers led this game after one quarter but the Warriors were up by eight at the half. When the Clippers pulled to within four late in the final period, Kelenna Azubuike hit a three, Ellis followed with a layup and Maggette hit two free throws for what turned out to be an insurmountable 116-105 lead with 2:17 left to play.
