CHICAGO, March 18 (UPI) -- John Salmons equaled his career best Tuesday, producing 38 points that helped Chicago end its six-game losing streak with a 127-121 win over Boston.

The Bulls also got 21 points from Brad Miller, 18 from Tyrus Thomas, 17 from Ben Gordon and 11 from Derrick Rose.

The Celtics countered with 37 points by Paul Pierce and 26 from Rajon Rondo, who also had 10 assists, but lost their second straight and fourth out of five overall.

Boston took a three-point lead early in the fourth period and the lead swung back and forth until Miller hit two free throws, Salmons dunked the ball and Rose followed with a layup for a 117-113 Bulls edge with under 2 minutes to go.

The Bulls held off the Celtics from there.

The Bulls had led 34-26 after the first quarter and the Celts were up 55-54 at the break.
