COL BKB: San Diego St. 65, Weber St. 49

SAN DIEGO, March 18 (UPI) -- Lorrenzo Wade's double-double Tuesday carried San Diego State to a 65-49 win over Weber State in first-round action of the NIT.

Wade finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Aztecs (24-9) also got 11 points from Kyle Spain and 10 from Billy White.

The Wildcats (21-10) got 14 points from Kellen McCoy. Damian Lillard contributed 10 points and seven rebounds, but shot only 4-of-12 from the field and committed five turnovers.

SDSU shot 51.6 percent from the field en rout to a 39-17 halftime lead. Even though the Aztecs managed just 32.3 percent in the second half -- 2-of-12 from 3-point range -- they still cruised to the 16-point victory.

Weber State committed 16 turnovers and was 3-of-21 from 3-point range.

San Diego plays the Illinois State/Kansas State winner in the second round.
