MORAGA, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Patrick Mills scored a game-high 27 points Tuesday, pushing Saint Mary's to a 68-57 win over Washington State in the first round of the NIT.
Mills finished 8-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-9 behind the 3-point line. The Gaels (26-6) also got 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds from Diamon Simpson.

The Cougars (17-15) got a double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) from Aron Baynes and 14 points from Taylor Rochestie.
The Gaels blew past the Cougars for a 36-23 halftime lead and held them to 3-of-15 shooting from beyond the arc for the game.
The California college goes against Davidson in the second round.
