TAMPA, Fla., March 17 (UPI) -- John Mitchell scored the winning goal in the sixth round of a shootout Tuesday for a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay after Toronto overcame a three-goal deficit.
Mitchell also scored in regulation and Jeffrey Hamilton sent the game to overtime with a goal late in the third period. Jason Blake had a goal and an assist.
Curtis Joseph had 19 saves in the win, which was Toronto's eighth in its last 12 games.
Vincent Lecavalier, Steven Stamkos and Matt Pettinger scored for the Lightning. Tampa Bay gave Karri Ramo a three-goal lead but Toronto peppered him with 39 shots and he allowed three goals in the final 20:24.
