LOS ANGELES, March 17 (UPI) -- Ryan Jones scored with 2:18 left to play Monday night to lead the Nashville Predators past Los Angeles 4-3.
Shea Weber, Steve Sullivan and Joel Ward also scored and Pekka Rinne made 26 stops for Nashville, which has won two straight following a three-game losing streak, but has eight wins in its last 11 games.
The win leaves the Predators in seventh place in the Western Conference with 75 points. The Kings are six points behind the Dallas Stars for the eighth and final playoff berth in the West.
Michal Handzus had a goal and an assist, Anze Kopitar and Teddy Purcell each scored a goal, and Erik Ersberg let in four goals on 30 shots for LA, which has lost three straight games.
Nashville carried a 3-2 lead into the third period but the Kings tied it when Handzus scored at 9:53. A minute after Jones made it 4-3 Nashville, the Kings had a two-man advantage for the final 1 1/2 minutes -- with Sullivan in the penalty box and Ersberg off the ice -- but they failed to cash in on the opportunity.
