NHL: Minnesota 3, Colorado 2 (SO)

ST. PAUL, Minn., March 17 (UPI) -- Nick Schultz tied the game late in the third period and Marek Zidlicky scored the game-winner in Minnesota's 3-2 shootout victory over Colorado.

Stephane Veilleux also scored in regulation for the Wild, who ended a four-game winless streak. Niklas Backstrom stopped 24 shots for Minnesota.

Cody McLeod and Ryan Smyth scored for Colorado. which has lost nine of its last 12 games. Losing goalie Peter Budaj made 27 saves.
