NHL: Pittsburgh 6, Boston 4

PITTSBURGH, March 15 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh's Chris Kunitz posted a hat trick and the Penguins scored four times in the third period Sunday to down the Boston Bruins 6-4.

Kunitz, who got two of his goals in an 18-second span early in the third, also had an assist.

Bill Guerin, Petr Sykora and Jordan Staal also scored and Sidney Crosby contributed three assists for Pittsburgh, which won for the eighth time in 10 games.

Mark Recchi, Phil Kessel, Blake Wheeler and Michael Ryder scored in Boston's sixth loss in nine contests.

Penguins goalie Mathieu Garon allowed a goal, by Recchi, on the first shot he faced but ended up with 21 saves and the victory.

The Bruins' Tim Thomas had 28 saves.
