Temple wins Atlantic 10 title

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., March 14 (UPI) -- Dionte Christmas had 29 points and made seven 3-pointers Saturday to lead Temple to a 69-64 win over Duquesne in the Atlantic 10 final.

Ryan Brooks and Sergio Olmos added 14 points each for the Owls (22-11), who clinched their eighth conference championship and an NCAA berth.

Lavoy Allen had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Temple, which won back-to-back league titles for the first time since 2001.

Aaron Jackson scored 20 points for the Dukes (21-12), who reached the A-10 final for the first time since 1981. Damian Saunders added 15 points and 10 rebounds for Duquesne.
