INDIANAPOLIS, March 14 (UPI) -- Evan Turner's team-high 18 points led Ohio State's 82-70 upset of sixth-ranked Michigan State Saturday in the Big Ten Conference semifinals in Indianapolis.

OSU led 34-29 at the half, and then widened the margin to 54-41 with 11:24 left following a three-point play by B.J. Mullens and Jeremie Simmons' 3-pointer. From that point, Michigan State trailed by at least 10 points until the end.

Kalin Lucas led Michigan State with 17 points and Korie Lucious added 16 points. The Spartans (26-6) have not been to the Big Ten final since winning back-to-back tournament titles in 1999 and 2000.

Ohio State will play in the Big Ten final Sunday against 24th-ranked Purdue, which had 20 points from JaJuan Johnson while beating Illinois 66-56 Saturday in the other Big Ten semifinal game.

Robbie Hummel had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Boilermakers (24-9). This is Purdue's second trip to the final, where the Boilermakers lost to Michigan in 1998.

Dominique Keller had 16 points for Illinois (24-9), which is expected to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
