ST. LOUIS, March 13 (UPI) -- Chris Mason gave up a first-period, power-play goal and nothing more Thursday night in leading the St. Louis Blues to a 3-1 victory over San Jose.

Mason stopped 24 shots and saw his team rally from an early deficit to pick up its sixth win in eight games. The Sharks have lost five out of six and dropped two points behind Detroit in the race for the best record in the Western Conference.

Andy McDonald tied the game with 3:12 to play in the opening period and Brad Boyes produced the game-winner with 7:40 left in the second. It remained a 2-1 contest until Barret Jackman scored a shorthanded goal with 26 seconds left in the third.

Patrick Marleau scored and Brian Boucher let in two goals on 25 shots for the Sharks.

The teams split their four meetings this year with the home team winning every contest.
