DENVER, March 13 (UPI) -- Wojtek Wolski and Milan Hejduk scored the only goals of the shootout Thursday, lifting the Colorado Avalanche to a 2-1 win over Minnesota.
Peter Budaj stopped the two shootout attempts he faced after having to make only 16 saves in regulation and overtime.
It was the second win in three games for Colorado, which is in last place in the Western Conference.
Marc-Andre Bergeron scored the only goal for Minnesota, losers of three out of four. Niklas Backstrom made 40 saves in the setback.
Despite their struggling season, Colorado has a 9-1 record in games decided by a shootout.
