
BUFFALO, N.Y., March 12 (UPI) -- The Buffalo Sabres, led by Jaroslav Spacek's one goal and one assist Thursday night, recorded a 3-1 victory against the Florida Panthers.
Spacek's eighth goal this season staked Buffalo to a 1-0 advantage at 3:04 of the first period, and the assist came on Daniel Paille's goal at 17:05 of the first.
Thomas Vanek's 34th (power play) capped the scoring.
Patrick Lalime was credited with 30 saves on 31 shots for the Sabres, who have split their last four contests. They have won five of the last seven meetings against the Panthers.
Florida's lone goal was Michal Repik's second of the season at 9:36 of the first period.
Tomas Vokoun surrendered three goals on 23 shots or the Panthers, who have lost three of four.
On the power play, Buffalo went 1-for-4, while Florida failed to score on its four man-advantage opportunities.
