ST. LOUIS, March 11 (UPI) -- David Perron scored twice Tuesday and the St. Louis Blues got all the goals they needed in the first period in a 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars.
David Backes, Brad Winchester and Keith Tkachuk (power play) got the other goals for the Blues, who have won five of their last seven games. St. Louis goalie Chris Mason made 20 saves.
James Neal and Mike Ribeiro scored for Dallas, which has won only two of its last 10 games.
Getting the Blues off to a 3-0 deficit resulted in Marty Turco being pulled from the game midway through the first period. Tobias Stephan made 17 saves in relief.
