NHL: Detroit 3, Phoenix 2 (OT)

DETROIT, March 10 (UPI) -- Johan Franzen scored 3:35 into overtime Tuesday, producing a 3-2 Detroit Red Wings victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Franzen also assisted Valtteri Filppula for the game's first goal. Brian Rafalski also scored for Detroit, which was coming off a humbling 8-2 rout at the hands of Columbus Saturday at home..

Ty Conklin stopped 23-of-25 shots for Detroit.

Ed Jovanovski of Phoenix sent the game to overtime with a power-play goal. Martin Hanzal also scored for Phoenix, which has lost six of its last seven games. Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 40 of 43 shots.
