JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars Tuesday were reviewing wide receiver Matt Jones's latest brush with the law before making any comments on his status with the team.
Jones was arrested on Monday for violating terms of a plea bargain in Arkansas after he allegedly tested positive for alcohol late last month while taking part in a drug rehabilitation program.
Jones was in rehab for a cocaine arrest last summer and had agreed to abstain from alcohol while in treatment.
Jaguars' General Manager Gene Smith said the team was "aware of the situation," but had no other official comment, the (Jacksonville) Florida Times-Leader said Tuesday.
Jones, a five-year NFL veteran, was enjoying a good season last year when he was suspended for the final three games for violating the league's substance abuse rules. His contract expires at the end of the 2009 season.
