SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, March 9 (UPI) -- Yadier Molina hit an eighth-inning two-run double Monday to help Puerto Rico beat the Netherlands 3-1 in the World Baseball Classic in San Juan.
Ian Snell allowed one run on three hits and a walk in a four-inning start. Puerto Rico scored three times in the eighth to give J.C. Romero the win after 1 1/3 innings of one-hit relief.
Rick VandenHurk allowed three hits and three walks in a 3 1/3-inning start for the Netherlands.
Yurendell de Caster drove in the Netherlands' only run in the second inning.
