DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., March 9 (UPI) -- Jiyai Shin climbed to No. 4 in the world rankings Monday on the strength of her fourth LPGA Tour victory, a weekend win in the HSBC Champions tournament.
The 20-year-old South Korean had been ranked fifth. Her ascent pushed Suzann Pettersen down one spot to fifth.
The top three places remained unchanged: Lorena Ochoa is still No. 1, followed by Yani Tseng and Paula Creamer.
After Pettersen, the next six places also are the same as last week, with Angela Stanford followed by Helen Alfredsson, Cristie Kerr, Karrie Webb, Seon-Hwa Lee and Yuri Fudoh.
Katherine Hull parlayed a second-place finish behind Shin into a 12th-place ranking, a jump of eight places.
Rounding out the top 20 are Jeong Jang, Maria Hjorth, Eun-Hee Ji, Hee-Won Han, Angela Park, Jee Young Lee, Momoko Ueda and Karen Stupples.
