COL BKB: Gonzaga 83, Saint Mary's 58

LAS VEGAS, March 9 (UPI) -- Josh Heytvelt scored 17 points Monday, keying No. 12 Gonzaga's 83-58 win over Saint Mary's (Calif.) for the West Coast Conference tournament championship.

Heytvelt scored 12 of his points in the second half. Matt Bouldin added 14 points for the Bulldogs (26-5), who won their 10th WCC Tournament title. Gonzaga was in the championship game for the 12th straight season but lost to San Diego in the finals last year.

Micah Downs had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Diamon Simpson had 19 points and nine rebounds for the losing Gaels (25-6). Omar Samhan added 17 points and nine rebounds for Saint Mary's.
