WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 8 (UPI) -- James Johnson had 21 points to lead five players in double figures Sunday when 10th-ranked Wake Forest rallied for a 96-88 ACC win over No. 19 Clemson.
Wake trailed 44-40 at halftime but came back to win its fourth straight victory to close out the regular season.
Johnson, who sank 10-of-14 shots, also had nine rebounds, and his highlight-reel dunk gave Wake its biggest lead, 83-71, with 4:11 left.
Al-Farouq Aminu scored 21 with 10 rebounds and Chas McFarland added 14 points (10-of-12 free throws) for the Demon Deacons (24-5, 11-5), who shot 59.6 percent from the field in their 17th consecutive home court victory against the Tigers.
K.C. Rivers and Demontez Stitt led Clemson with 21 points apiece. Trevor Booker, the only other Tiger in double figures, added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Clemson (23-7, 9-7), which will be the fifth seed at the ACC Tournament and will face No. 12 seed Georgia Tech Thursday.
