ANAHEIM, Calif., March 7 (UPI) -- Loui Eriksson scored twice Friday night and the Dallas Stars avoided what would have been their second collapse in as many nights, downing Anaheim 3-2.
The Stars let a two-goal lead get away in the closing minutes against Los Angeles Thursday and lost that game in overtime.
They had a two-goal advantage over the Ducks with time winding down Friday before Anaheim threw a scare into Dallas by getting a goal from Bobby Ryan with 2:32 to play.
This time, however, Marty Turco survived Anaheim's final push to get the win with 36 saves.
Eriksson gave Dallas a 2-0 lead with 5:21 to play in the second period and he produced the eventual game-winner 8:48 into the third. They were his 30th and 31st goals of the season.
Dallas reached 70 points for the year and moved into a three-way tie with Nashville and Columbus for the final three playoff spots in the Western Conference.
Edmonton and Anaheim are two points out of a playoff position, Minnesota is three points behind and St. Louis is four points back.
