NBA: Chicago 117, Milwaukee 102

CHICAGO, March 7 (UPI) -- Ben Gordon scored nine points in a dominating fourth quarter Friday night, carrying the Chicago Bulls to a 117-102 victory over Milwaukee.

The Bulls led by only one a minute deep into the final period, and then closed the game with a 30-16 surge. Gordon finished with 34 points and Derrick Rose had 27 in bringing the Bulls their fifth straight home win.

Chicago attempted 23 more free throws than Milwaukee and made 20 more than the Bucks.

The Bulls moved a game ahead of Milwaukee for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Richard Jefferson scored 27 for Milwaukee, which has lost seven out of nine. The Bucks made only 1-of-14 tries from 3-point range.
