SINGAPORE, March 7 (UPI) -- Australia's Katherine Hull shot 6-under-par 66 Saturday to grab a two-stroke lead through 54 holes at the HSBC Women's Champions Tournament in Singapore.
Hull's three-round total, 11-under 205, leads American Angela Stanford (66), a two-time winner on the LPGA Tour last season. South Korea's Sun Young Yoo is alone in third place after shooting a 68 for an 8-under 208.
Hull's birdie at the 18th hole gave her the two-shot cushion heading into Sunday's fourth round.
"That was probably a key moment in the round I was able to go on and make some birdies coming in," Hull said. "So, yeah, (the round) was almost mistake-free, but there's always room for improvement."
Before her closing three holes, play was interrupted by a large thunderstorm which hammered the Tanah Merah Country Club, and the delay lasted almost 2 1/2 hours before the round was completed.
