MILWAUKEE, March 7 (UPI) -- Jonny Flynn scored 24 points Saturday, pacing 25th-ranked Syracuse to an 86-79 victory over 15th-ranked Marquette in their Big East season finale.

The Orange (23-8, 11-7 Big East) earned their fourth straight win and clinched the sixth seed in next week's Big East Tournament.

Andy Rautins made four three-pointers and scored 20 points, and Rick Jackson made 8-of-9 field goals in a 17-point, eight-rebound performance for Syracuse.

Jerel McNeal had a game-high 25 points but missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer in the closing seconds of regulation for Marquette (23-8, 12-6). The Golden Eagles have lost all four games with senior point guard Dominic James hampered by a foot injury.

Jimmy Butler had 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Wesley Matthews 14 points and 12 rebounds for Marquette, which suffered only its second loss in 18 home games this season and is the fifth seed in the Big East tournament.
