BUENOS AIRES, March 7 (UPI) -- With a doubles victory Saturday, Argentina built an insurmountable 3-0 lead in its first-round Davis Cup battle against the Netherlands in Buenos Aires.

The Argentines secured their victory on a 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 win by Lucas Arnold Ker and Martin Vassallo Arguello over Dutchmen Jesse Huta Galung and Rogier Wassen.

It was the first-ever meeting between the two nations.

Two doubles matches could be played Sunday, but if so, their outcomes will have no bearing on Argentina's victory.

Argentina faces either the Czech Republic or France in July's quarterfinals.

The Argentines lost to Spain in last year's Davis Cup final and have never won a Davis Cup competition.
