POREC, Croatia, March 6 (UPI) -- Marin Cilic piled up seven served breaks in a straight-set rout that gave Croatia a 2-0 lead in its best-of-five, first-round Davis Cup series against Chile.

Cilic needed just an hour and a half to complete a 6-1, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Paul Capdeville in Friday's second match in Porec, Croatia. Cilic backed Capdeville into 11 service-break chances and cashed in seven of them. Overall, he won 92 points to Capdeville's 52.

Mario Ancic put Croatia up 1-0 with a 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win over Nicolas Massu. Ancic had 46 winners and dropped his serve just once in the match.

The Croatians can secure their advance to the Davis Cup quarterfinals with a doubles victory Saturday. Ancic and Cilic are scheduled to team up against Chile's Massu and Capdeville.

The four would play reverse singles on Sunday with Cilic going against Massu and Ancic playing Capdeville.

The winner of this best-of-five series would meet the winner of the matches pitting the United States against Switzerland in the Davis Cup's next round.
