LOS ANGELES, March 6 (UPI) -- Josh Shipp scored 11 points during UCLA's 15-0 run to close the first half Thursday and the 17th-ranked Bruins coasted to a 79-54 victory over Oregon State.
UCLA kept alive its hopes of sharing the Pacific-10 championship with Washington. The Bruins trail Washington by one game with a contest remaining in the league race.
UCLA finishes its regular season Saturday at home against Oregon and Washington will be at home against Washington State.
The Beavers got a 3-pointer from Lathen Wallace with 4:52 to go in the first half that cut their deficit to 29-19. The Bruins did not allow another point prior to halftime while building a 44-19 cushion.
Shipp finished with a career-high 27 points, hitting 10-of-15 from the field. He made half of UCLA's 10 3-pointers. Nikola Dragovic added 13 for the Bruins (23-7, 12-5 Pac-10).
Wallace and Seth Tarver had 13 each for Oregon State (13-15, 7-10).
