LOS ANGELES, March 5 (UPI) -- Rudy Gay produced a season-high 35 points Wednesday and Memphis ran away in the fourth quarter to down the Los Angeles Clippers 118-95.
Gay made 12-of-21 shots from the field and all of his nine free throw attempts to help the Grizzlies halt an eight-game losing streak. He managed six points in the final period, during which the Grizzlies turned an 11-point lead into a blowout.
It was only the fourth road win of the year for Memphis, which had been last by itself in the NBA in that category but is now tied for last with Washington, Oklahoma City and Sacramento.
Marc Gasol added 20 points for Memphis and O.J. Mayo had 18.
The Clippers were led by Al Thornton with 25.
