NHL: Columbus 5, Los Angeles 4

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 3 (UPI) -- Manny Malhotra scored the winning goal midway through the third period Tuesday, delivering Columbus a 5-4 victory over Los Angeles.

With the score tied 4-4 in the third period, Rick Nash passed to Malhotra for his second goal of the game and 10th of the season.

Malhotra also scored earlier and added an assist for the Blue Jackets, who have won two of their last three games. Jiri Novotny, Raffi Torres and Jakub Voracek also scored for Columbus.

Steve Mason made 22 saves for the winners. Jonathan Quick gave up five goals on 25 shots for the losers.

Jarret Stoll, Teddy Purcell, Anze Kopitar and Oscar Moller scored for the Kings, who have lost four straight and six of their last seven games.
