SOUTH BEND, Ind., March 2 (UPI) -- Scottie Reynolds made 6-of-7 3-pointers and scored 23 points Monday night to help 16th-ranked Villanova post a 77-60 win over Notre Dame.

Dante Cunningham added 18 points and eight rebounds and Shane Clark scored 13 for the Wildcats (24-6, 12-5 Big East), who won for the fourth time in their last five games.

The Wildcats stand a half-game behind Marquette for the No. 4 seed in the Big East post-season tournament next week. The top four seeds in the conference get automatic two-round passes into the quarterfinals.

Notre Dame (16-13, 7-10) is in the 10th spot in the conference, meaning the Fighting Irish will have to open the tournament in first-round play March 10.

Ryan Ayers made seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points for the Irish. Luke Harangody added 18 points.
