EDMONTON, Alberta, March 1 (UPI) -- Dwayne Roloson stopped 43 shots and the Edmonton Oilers stifled a third-period Minnesota rally Saturday night to beat the Wild 3-2.
Tom Gilbert scored the decisive goal after an assist by Liam Reddox in the second period, and Zach Stortini and Ales Hemsky also scored goals for the Oilers, who have won two of their last three games following a three-game losing streak. Gilbert had an assist and Reddox assisted on Stortini's goal.
Minnesota got goals from Andrew Brunette and Antii Miettinen. Josh Harding made 27 saves for the Wild, which has lost three straight games and six of its last eight.
Edmonton and Minnesota started the day in a four-way tie with Dallas and Anaheim for the final two Western Conference playoff spots. The Ducks beat the Stars 4-3 earlier Saturday.
Edmonton's Ethan Moreau sustained what appeared to be a serious injury when he was hit with a stick in his right eye with 20 seconds remaining in the game. He was taken to a hospital for observation and treatment.
