COL BKB: Pittsburgh 89, Seton Hall 78

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Sam Young had 29 points and 10 rebounds Saturday night to lead the top-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers to an 89-78 victory over Seton Hall.

The Panthers are expected to lose their No. 1 ranking because they lost to Providence Tuesday.

Pittsburgh (26-3, 13-3 Big East) is third in the conference and will finish its regular season with home games against 10th-ranked Marquette Wednesday and second-ranked Connecticut Saturday.

Jermaine Dixon scored 14 points and Levance Fields had 10 points and 10 assists for Pitt. DeJuan Blair was held to nine points and 10 rebounds.

Jeremy Hazell scored 25 points to lead Seton Hall (15-13, 6-10), which has lost four of its last five games. Robert Mitchell and Eugene Harvey each scored 17 points.
